I dont mind also losing my xp product key, have a spare i can use. im hoping someone has an idea of what to do. and i cant get back into safe mode due to actiavation issues. Needs to be activated blah blah blah" clicked ok and now it gets stuck at this point. decided to go into safe and went all ok, and looked fine, desktop icons and start menu existed. Going to change this later if possible)) the Repair then went ok until the "please wait." this went for half an hour so i rebooted. i have then had to use my own product key to continue (original wouldnt work as OEM edition(was managed to delete "oem16.inf" in shift f10 and continued installing. but as installing devices it would crash and reboot, several times.
Next thoughts were to repair windows with an xp disc i own (took note of old product key before hand) as i booted after the delete it booted fine and would load into the desktop background with no icons. so this was deleted from spybot should have done more research before hand.
Past) this showed a virus attached to the csrss.exe. AVG had no luck with this either so i turned to spybot (havent had a problem in the i tried to use stinger to try and get rid of some. Someone i know has given me a computer (SP3) with a massive amount of trojans and viruses. appologies as this will be a long post as i am going to try to explain whats gone on with XP.
